ATHENS: NEW HORIZONS

Athens: New Horizons (A:NH) is a photographic depiction of contemporary Athens exhibited for the first time at the Amanzo’e in Porto Heli.  The project brings together five photographers each seeking new ways of viewing the Athens landscape.  Athens is a city whose skyline is distinguished by the contrast between its most famous ancient landmark - the Athenian Acropolis - and the unruly sprawl of the modern city in which it nestles.  A:NH looks for new visual possibilities in the landscape of Athens: it seeks to shed the negative connotations associated with its evident disorganization and to explore new horizons.
